SOW A SEED

Those Who Preach the Gospel Should Live From It

“Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar? Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.”

— 1 Corinthians 9:13-14

The apostle Paul teaches us that those who minister the Word and preach the gospel have the God-given right to be supported through tithes and offerings. Just as the priests and Levites in the Old Testament were sustained by the temple offerings, so too are modern-day ministers called to live from the generosity of God’s people.

“Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”

— Deuteronomy 15:10 (NIV)

When we give, we not only bless others but position ourselves to receive blessings from God. This verse reminds us of the joy and reward of giving from a willing heart. Every seed sown is a seed planted for the advancement of God’s Kingdom and the harvest of souls.

As you give, know that your generosity is not just funding the work of ministry—it is a spiritual act of worship. It empowers the gospel to reach the lost, provides for the laborers in God’s vineyard, and fulfills the Lord’s command to care for those who carry His Word.

May the Lord of the harvest bless and multiply every gift, and may He pour out His abundant blessings upon all who give with faith and love.
